April showers bring May books! But which ones will leave you feeling refreshed and renewed rather than downcast and water-logged?
After wading through synopses, author bios, and early reviews, I’ve hand-picked five eye-catching favorites. These books span multiple genres and are written by both debut and tried-and-true authors, but each one has that something that sets it apart—whether it be complexly relatable characters, sugary-sweet romance, or thought-provoking settings. Below are the five May YA book releases I’m most excited to spring into, ranked from I can see this one growing on me to as flawless as a rose.*

5. The Ivies
Release date: May 25th, 2021.
